Reuven Bigio - CEO of GB Group

A businessman with nearly three decades of experience in leadership roles, Reuven Bigio is presently the chief executive officer of GB Group, one of the Caribbean’s most diversified conglomerates. Since 2011, Reuven Bigio has overseen companies across the construction, consumer goods, energy, and telecommunications sectors.

Mr. Bigio is responsible for an organization that employs more than 4,000 workers across Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Saint Maarten, as well as collaborative operations in more than 15 countries. He provides strategic direction for the entire conglomerate, ensuring that its diverse businesses are committed to operational excellence, sustainable growth, and innovation.

This role also involves collaborating with subsidiary leadership teams to improve performance, identify expansion opportunities, and navigate the complex Caribbean market. Mr. Bigio’s other activities include supervising major capital investments, managing relationships with international partners and stakeholders, and positioning the conglomerate as a catalyst for Caribbean economic development.

In addition to overseeing GB Group’s daily operations, Mr. Bigio has used business as a positive force for social change. Some of his activities include co-founding the Haitian-led think tank Institut Macaya, an organization that advocates for democratic governance, institutional reform, and private sector-led solutions for the country. His community interests include coalition building through business, national self-reliance versus aid-dependency models, and civic education.

Mr. Bigio’s personal interests include reading about political philosophy and nation building. He also follows Caribbean geopolitics, economics, planting, and reforestation. He has mentored professionals and entrepreneurs, and travels throughout the Caribbean to better understand developmental challenges.
